What is it? This is an assessment by the current administration to give value to its plan of upgrading the Title I grants and the reauthorization of such.

This was published online, as were many other reports about all of the federal programs reviewed by the Obama administration.

Accessed: February 12, 2009
Support: There is no support provided as it is an internal review of this federal program by the federal government and how they plan on fixing the problems with the current program and what is working in the current program.
Usefulness: This report is useful in determining what the current administration is planning to do with Title I grants. The idea of this article extends far beyond its simple scope. The report is shallow, which is concerning after reading about many of the problems listed on other works surrounding the Title I allocations. Specifically, the NEA report and academic research provided by Roza show many more faults than this federal report even attempts to describe as possible improvements. Thus, the shallow interaction of this report is perhaps going to cornerstone how effective any funding of this program will end up being. Without further review and concentration on the problems facing the schools receiving these grants, the program will continue doing what it seems to have always done—nothing to improve the disadvantaged students across America.
