Support: Quoted wanting to use a “Data Driven” approach. Used to provide a methodology behind how Duncan plans to move forward.
Kevin Carey, Analyst, Education Sector
Used to mark the significance of having too many individual approaches to education and the need for a more one way federal system. However, Carey doesn’t necessarily think the idea is plausible.
Both sources are used to give a credible strategy and analysis of what Duncan is doing with the education sector. Carey is brought in to give light on how hard the task at hand is going to be and “Data Driven” approach is a scientifically backed up method of approach that is currently being scrutinized in other media sources.

Usefulness: This source is giving a firsthand look into what Arne Duncan has planned for education on all levels. Within the video we are given some random statistics to accompany what he plans to do. This video also gives a good look into what method is being used as he makes plans to move forward. The video is important for that aspect because it gives light of the how reasons behind Duncan’s movements toward successful education. The information from this interview is very helpful in determining whether the planned strategies will work well as other strategies are being offered up by many different groups. Considerations must be taken on ideas relative to the Accountability Illusion book. The accountability illusion itself disproves the credibility of numbers on a level of success rate for the education sector. The problem with elementary and secondary information is the numbers as whole and making them more reliable is going to be a task requiring great transparency to many different parties.
